In connection with Wednesday’s terrorist attacks in Tehran, the embassy of the Republic of Armenia (RA) in Iran has urged Armenian citizens in the country not to visit the areas of operations carried out by Iranian law enforcement.

“In case of being in an emergency situation, please immediately contact the embassy of Armenia in Iran,” reads the Facebook page of the embassy. “The embassy is following the course of events.

“At this moment, there is no information on the presence of RA citizens, Armenians among the victims.”

Gunmen and suicide bombers on Wednesday carried out attacks on Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini in capital city Tehran, killing 12 people and injuring over 30 others.

The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
