Saudi Arabia is behind Wednesday’s terrorist attacks in Tehran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on Wednesday, Reuters reports, citing Iranian media outlets.
"This terrorist attack happened only a week after the meeting between the U.S. president (Donald Trump) and the (Saudi) backward leaders who support terrorists. The fact that Islamic State has claimed responsibility proves that they were involved in the brutal attack," says the statement.
Gunmen and suicide bombers on Wednesday carried out attacks on Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini in capital city Tehran, killing 12 people and injuring over 30 others.
The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
