YEREVAN. – “Iran is one of the unique countries in the region that runs an independent policy, and in this context, tools are needed whereby the relevant forces will attempt to exert pressure on this country,” Iranian Studies specialist Vardan Voskanyan told 168 Zham (Hour) newspaper of Armenia.
And when asked about what threat there is for Armenia, considering the fact that terrorism is close to the country’s border, he responded:
“We border with the Middle East, and in this sense, nothing has changed, by and large; that terrorism existed and exists in the Middle East. But it is apparent that sowing a panic mood among our society is also wrong.
“Armenia needs to clearly raise the level of alertness, especially near its own borders; also, by way of close cooperation with Iranians.
“But it would be wrong to panic, sow unnecessary concern among our population because even this terrorist attack inside Iran did not undermine the security system of Iran in any way.”
