The shooter of Moscow’s Kratovo settlement turned out to be the former employee of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Zenkov (born in 1967), RIA Novosti reports, citing the source in the law enforcement bodies of the region.
According to the information of Interfax, the man escaped the house, which was stormed by the fighters of the Federal National Guard Troops Service. After determining his location, the police has surrounded him now. Shooting can be heard from the site.
The man opened fire on passers-by from a game getter and in the territory of his house on Saturday.
The General Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed about four casualties as a result of the shooting.
The man’s neighbor told REN
TV that Zenkov was also a Special Police Force employee. He was wounded during his service in the ministry, following which he “was taken to a psychiatric hospital.”
The witnesses told TASS that the man served in Chechnya and has mental disorder. Life writes that Zenkov served in Afghanistan.
