YEREVAN. – At the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on Wednesday arrived in Armenia, on a two-day official visit.
The official welcoming ceremony for Rahmon was held at the Office of the President of Armenia, whereupon the two presidents held a tête-à-tête, the press office of the President of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Sargsyan noted that the Tajik president’s this visit to Armenia is symbolic, since this year Armenia and Tajikistan mark the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
Also, the Armenian President underscored the bilateral documents that will be signed within the framework of his Tajik colleague’s current visit to Armenia.
In addition, Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia stands ready for active cooperation with Tajikistan.
The Tajik president, in turn, concurred with his Armenian counterpart that the aforesaid documents to be signed are a good opportunity for the development of bilateral relations.
Furthermore, President Rahmon praised the business community of Armenia.
Subsequently, talks in an expanded format, and with the participation of the delegations from the two countries, kicked off at the Office of the President of Armenia.
