YEREVAN. – Civil society development in Armenia is one of the priorities of the European Union (EU).
Head of the Delegation of the EU to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, stated about the aforesaid at Tuesday’s roundtable discussion devoted to civil society for development.
In his words, this is important for the functions of democratic structures and creating of jobs across the region.
Świtalski said this is the first time that they are trying to carry out a contest for small grants in Armenia, and the Eastern Partnership region, in broad sense.
The EU ambassador added that even though there will solely be 17 successful respective projects, there will be new opportunities also for the other NGOs.
