Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Reuters reports, citing her spokesman.
The relations between Berlin and Ankara are suffering a crisis. German Embassy didn’t permit Erdoğan to speak before the Turkish community of Germany, insistently urging him to limit himself by meetings and speeches within the framework of the summit. Moreover, an art installation was placed in front of the German Chancellery, which depicts Erdoğan as a dictator, which hit a raw nerve with Ankara.
