Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on October 13 that Turkey "does not need the EU," amid a number of disagreements between the two sides as well as diplomatic tension between Ankara and the US.

“If you're honest, make your statement and we will finish the job. We don't need you,” Erdoğan said, according to Hurriyet Daily News.
