The Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan brought criminal charged against officials in connection with illegal transplantation of human organs. The investigation is under way, said Javad Shihaliyev, Head of the Department for Human Trafficking Control. He reported that some officials have been detained.

Belarusian law-enforcement agencies exposed a large criminal group practicing illegal transplantation. Most of the operations were performed in Baku, and the victims got much less money than they had been promised. The Azerbaijani authorities did their best to conceal the crimes, but had to admit the fact after the Public Television of Belarus showed a detailed story with evidence.
