Acting mayor, ruling Republican Party of Armenia member and businessman Arush Arushanyan has won Sunday’s local self-government election in Goris town in the Syunik Province.
He achieved a crushing victory over his opponent, non-partisan Samvel Harutyunyan.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, Arushanyan received 99.57 percent of the valid ballots that were cast.
He got 12,945 votes, whereas Harutyunyan—solely 56.
