Reports on criminal prosecution against former Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan are unnecessary, Galust Sahakyan, head of Republican Party’s parliamentary group, told the journalists today.
He considers that Beglaryan made a difficult political decision handing in resignation, therefore it is unnecessary to speak of criminal prosecution. “Political decisions are more important than criminal cases. Beglaryan’s resignation was discussed in the presidential administration, but there was no pressure,” he added.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, ex-Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan was urged to resign after a scandal over beating Aram Kandayan, an employee of the protocol department of the presidential staff.
