The reports that U.S. House of Representatives will put the H. Res. 252, the Armenian Genocide resolution, to the vote caused a stir at Turkish Foreign Ministry.

Turkish Ambassador to U.S. Namik Tan was the first to respond to the initiative, calling on the Armenian society to come to common sense.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and asked U.S. administration to hinder the discussion of the resolution, Hurriyet daily reports.

During the conversation, Clinton said Obama administration’s stance on the issue remains unchanged and all necessary measures will be taken not to place the resolution on the U.S. Congress’ agenda.
