According to the information at Yerkir newspaper’s disposal, Armenian Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan will be appointed Special Envoy of UN Human Rights in Central Asia and will soon leave for Bishkek.   According to the source, likely candidates are put up for the post.

Constitutional law expert Vardan Poghosyan was offered to assume the office, however, the latter refused. Poghosyan is the GTZ Legal Advice Project Coordinator in Armenia.

Armen Harutyunyan has been Armenia’s Ombudsman since 2006.
