YEREVAN. – Stepan Stepanyan, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Armenia, died on February 12, at a military hospital.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesperson for the Minister of Defense, told about the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“He was on leave, after which he returned to the Ijevan [town] military unit,” Hovhannisyan said. “[But] he felt ill, and he was pronounced dead at the [military] hospital.”

Artsrun Hovhannisyan added that a forensic autopsy has been commissioned.

A criminal case is launched.

The circumstances behind his death are being ascertained.
