The Azerbaijani leadership has an inferiority complex, which is a really serious problem for it, Alaeddin Borujerdi, Head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said, commenting on the reports from Baku proclaiming President Ilham Aliyev leader of the Azerbaijanis worldwide.

Such statements are just a figment of imagination and typical of the Azerbaijani leadership, the Mehr agency reports, quoting the Iranian MP. According to Alaeddin Borujerdi, Azerbaijanis residing in Iran play an important role and are proud of being Iranian citizens.
