YEREVAN. – As a result of secret ballot on Wednesday, Gevorg Kostanyan, member of the ruling “Republican Party of Armenia” Faction at the National Assembly (NA), has been elected chairman of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights.

There were 63 votes for and 30 votes against Kostanyan.

After the announcement of the voting results, he thanked the MPs who voted for and against him.

Previously, Gevorg Kostanyan held the positions of presidential aide, chairman of the Anticorruption Monitoring Committee, Military Prosecutor, Deputy Prosecutor General, and Prosecutor General of Armenia.
