A tourist going on a package holiday to Armenia spends an average of 500,000 AMD (U.S. $1,400) in the country, says a 2011 Tourism Development Program the RA Ministry of Economy submitted to the RA Government for approval.

About 700,000 tourists are expected to visit Armenia after the program has been implemented. According to preliminary information, 600,000 tourists visited Armenia last year. However, very few tourists purchase holiday packages. No official information has so far been available. By our estimates, 50,000 to 100,000 tourists visit Armenia using packages.
