Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and his Cypriot counterpart Dimitris Chritofias signed a joint declaration between Republic of Armenia and Republic of Cyprus. Serzh Sargsyan and the First Lady Rita Sargsyan left for an official visit to Cyprus on January 17.

The two Presidents held a private conversation followed by a meeting in an extended format, RA Presidential press service informed NEWS.am.

The officials discussed the current stage in bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation in all spheres. The sides referred to steps, giving new impetus to development of bilateral ties.

Following the meeting, the sides signed documents on improvement of ties and development of cooperation between the two states.  “Agreement on abolishing double taxation and preventing income and property tax avoidance”, “Memorandum on mutual understanding for 2011-2012 on Joint actions for implementation of agreement in the field of tourism between Armenian and Cypriot Governments”  and “Working program on medical cooperation and healthcare between Armenian and Cypriot Governments” were signed.

Serzh Sargsyan and Dimitris Chritofias organized a joint press conference at the Cypriot presidential residence.
