YEREVAN. – Andreas Ghukasyan, who was charged of inciting mass riots on July 29, 2016 in the Sari Tagh district of Yerevan, was released on his own recognizance on Monday.

Gukasyan’s lawyers have filed a petition to change the measure of restraint. Having considered the motion, Judge Vardan Grigoryan granted the petition.

Head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski also attended the court session.

He has been locked up since his arrest during public protests in Yerevan on July 29, 2016.
