2011 is declared a year of qualitative progress and improving of combat skills in the Armenian Armed Forces, said Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
“The first half of this year will be a period when discipline will be improved,” he stressed. Achievements of the army are pleasant, of course, but we should not rest on our laurels. “On the contrary, we should ponder on shortcomings,” the Minister said visiting Yerablur military cemetery.
Talking about possible staff changes in the armed forces, Minister Ohanyan said he opposes dramatic and spontaneous changes. “The officers, who are doing a good job and cope with their responsibilities, will work with us. Those who fail doing it will find a position in accordance with their skills,” he added.
