Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his Lithuanian counterpart, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Audronius Azubalis in Moscow. “Basic principles for the Karabakh conflict resolution should be agreed in the OSCE area,” Lavrov said during a joint press conference with Azubalis, Russia 24 reports.
The necessity for a peaceful resolution of conflicts and the stances of the conflicting parties should be considered. We should not admit the creation of humanitarian problems for people in the conflict zone, Lavrov said.
According to him, each conflict is specific. “Today we discussed Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in which Russia plays an active role as a nation and within the OSCE Minsk Group,” the minister said.
