Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the campaign of the forthcoming snap election for the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders; he informed this during his Facebook livestream on Sunday evening. 

“I intend to partake—in the ways not prohibited by law—in the Yerevan Council of Elders’ campaign,” he said. “And I believe a very interesting campaign and elections are expected.”

In his words, with this vote, Yerevan residents can secure the results of the revolution they have carried out.

As per Pashinyan, there is no doubt that this election will be conducted under full legitimacy.

“Any kind of election fraud, distribution of election bribe will be ruled out,” he added, in particular.

The Yerevan municipal council voting is slated for September 23.

The election campaign season will start on September 10 and conclude on September 21.

Nine political parties and four blocs have submitted petitions to run in the ballot vote.
