Third President Serzh Sargsyan has made a decision that he will no longer reside in the government summerhouse, and he will leave the area within a reasonable timeframe and move to another house.

Nairi Petrosyan, head of the office Armenia’s third President, told about the aforesaid to Aysor (Today) news agency.

“Throughout the course of discussions with the government’s chief of staff, the office of Armenia’s retired President Serzh Sargsyan has never made demands on the allocation [for Sargsyan] of the place of residence provided by law,” Petrosyan said.

He added that the office had demanded no luxury mansion for the third President.

“We had agreed with the prime minister’s chief of staff that the solution in selecting a place of residence for President Sargsyan (…) should be logical—[and] meeting with the security requirements of such a place of residence,” Nairi Petrosyan noted.

He added that during this time, and based on several reasons, Serzh Sargsyan did not find it expedient to accept the residence option which the government had previously proposed.
