YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, who is on a working visit to Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday met with speaker Andrej Danko of the National Council of Slovakia.

They discussed the development of bilateral parliamentary relations, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Separately, Sharmazanov expressed gratitude for assisting in the holding of the exhibition, entitled “Parliamentarians against Genocides,” at the Slovak legislature.

Also, the interlocutors conferred on the effectiveness of the collaboration between the two countries’ parliamentary delegations within interparliamentary organizations.

In addition, the deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament underscored the Slovak legislature’s speedy ratification of the Armenia-European Union Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

Sharmazanov and Danko touched also upon security matters. In this connection, the NA vice president expressed concern with respect to the Slovak MSM Martin company’s selling weapons to Azerbaijan, and he considered this alarming and unacceptable.

“That country uses weapons against the peaceful inhabitants of Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)],” he stressed.

The parties attached importance to the pacific resolution of all conflicts, including the Karabakh conflict.
