As the entire world`s attention was riveted on the developments in Egypt, Dr. Hakan Fidan, Head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), visited Baku during the first week of this month. The aim was to improve Turkey-Azerbaijan relations, which were damaged because of Turkish-Armenian dialogue, as well as gain Azerbaijan`s favor.

Bulent Erandac, a journalist for Takvim, reminds the readers of a report on Nagorno-Karabakh prepared by the International Crisis Group (ICG). According to the report, a new war in Nagorno-Karabakh will certainly be more disastrous than the war in 1992-1994, with Russia, Turkey and Iran involved in it.

The Head of the National Intelligence Organization pointed out that a new war will endanger Turkish-Russian cooperation, the journalist writes. He stressed that Turkey needs Azerbaijan to ensure safe energy carriers for Europe, and Azerbaijan needs Turkey to supply its energy carriers to Europe and get rid of Russia`s pressure.

Turkey, with its policy aimed at becoming a regional power, must spare no efforts to get the major security and stability problem, Nagorno-Karabakh problem, resolved by means of international dialogue. The resolution will put an end to a number of regional problems, the journalist writes.
