The likely leadership of the 7th convocation National Assembly (NA) of Armenia is virtually known.
Accordingly, the My Step bloc will nominate First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan as speaker of the parliament, while current NA’s “Way Out” (Yelk) Faction Head Lena Nazaryan and “Way Out” Faction member Alen Simonyan—as deputy speakers.
Acting Minister of Culture Lilit Makunts as well as Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Davit Simidyan will be nominated My Step bloc NA faction head and secretary, respectively.
Head of the Diaspora Ministry—which is expected to be dissolved, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, is expected to hold the post of Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport.
In addition, the press circulates names that will head the other standing committees of the new Armenian legislature.
The other two political forces that have won parliamentary seats—namely, Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia Parties—also will have standing committees’ chairs.
