YEREVAN.- Among the issues discussed at the meeting of the executive body of the Republican Party of Armenia were the issues of external challenges facing the country, in particular, concerns about the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the RPA press secretary Edward Sharmazanov told journalists.
“The statement that followed the meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan was not enough. There was no word about the three principles, about the right to self-determination. Moreover, Pashinyan says that there is no negotiation process either. But what then did the ministers talk about for four hours, if there is no negotiation process? Did they talk about the weather?" Sharmazanov wondered.
According to him, however, this does not mean that they claim that the new authorities intend to lead the country to failure or are ready to make unilateral concessions - this is the inexperience of the new authorities, as a result of which we lose ground in the Karabakh issue.
“When Mamedyarov declares that he is ready to give Artsakh the status of autonomy within Azerbaijan, and , besides Ashotyan, Sharmazanov and other representatives of the RPA and ARFD, no one in Armenia gives a harsh assessment, concern increases,” the RPA press secretary said.
