The latest statements by the Armenian National Congress (ANC) that the March 1 rally will be an attempt resolve the authorities-people conflict are aimed at “refreshing” the opposition electorate’s vigor, the expert Ivan Gharibyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He has no doubts that the ANC will hold a crowded meeting on March 1. However, the Opposition has to decide on its further steps. “I think that the Opposition now chanting slogans that are not yet followed by any concrete steps,” Gharibyan said.

He stressed that it is the enthusiasm over the latest developments in the Arab world account for the ANC optimistic statements. “The opposition is trying to draw parallels between the developments in the Arab world and in Armenia, pleading identical social problems,” the expert said.
