On February 26, Chief of Armenian Police Alik Sargsyan signed a decree removing Head of Department of Criminal Investigations of Armenian police Hovhannes Tamamyan and chief of Arabkir police department Varazdat Adamyan from their posts, a representative of the police media office Armen Malkhasyan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He confirmed the information on February 28, Tamamyan’s father Ghukas Tamamyan died.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported previously, the Zhamanak daily had spread information that Head of Department of Criminal Investigations of Armenian Police Hovhannes Tamamyan was removed from his post. According to the source, the main reason for his resignation was that the nephew of Advisor to the Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Hovhannes Shahinyan is charged with murder as a result of Tamamyan’s evidence.
