A conference, entitled “Armenophobia: Historical and Present-Day Resurgence,” will be held at the European Parliament on March 6.

The event is organized by the initiative of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) and the Tufenkian Foundation.

The conference will be hosted by MEP Eleni Theocharous, who also heads the EU-Armenia Friendship Group at the European Parliament.

Harout Shirinian, Public Relations and Communications Officer at EAFJD, told Armenpress that the main speakers at the conference will be Turkish intellectual and human rights activist Ragıp Zarakolu, Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan, former Artsakh Ombudsman Ruben Melikyan, blogger Alexander Lapshin, and Armenian Studies specialist Jakub Osiecki.

The conference will also be attended by MEPs, public figures, and Armenian community representatives.

Artsakh Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan told Armenpress that, during the conference, he and Ruben Melikyan will present information which is fully based on facts.

The conference participants will have an opportunity to get familiarized with the content of the report on Armenophobia, and which the Artsakh Ombudsman issued in September 2018.

In addition, the anti-Armenian manifestations demonstrated during the four-day war in Artsakh, in April 2016, will be presented.
