YEREVAN. – Any attempt to resolve matters through violence shall face a severe legal counteraction in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Facebook.

“All those who are acting in New Armenia with the logic of dissemination of violence, lie, fraud are acting against Armenia, against democracy, against the people,” Pashinyan  also wrote.

Public activist Narek Malyan had informed on a Facebook livestream that members of the “Restart” initiative had attacked him at around midnight, and a few minutes later, police officers had approached and the participants in this incident were taken to a police station.

Also, Malyan had stated that he will wait for the other participants in the incident, on Monday at 1pm at the courtyard of capital city Yerevan State University.

Sometime thereafter, “Restart” initiative member Davit Petrosyan admitted on a Facebook livestream that they were the ones who had attacked Malyan.
