Libya’s leader Muammar Gaddafi and Secretary General of League of Arab States Amr Moussa have agreed to a proposal of Venzuela’s president Hugo Chavez to mediate in political crisis, RIA Novosti reported referring to Al Jazeera television reports.

According to television sources, Chavez held talks with Moussa and Gaddafi getting principal agreement for Venezuela’s plan.

This plan supposes sending a peacekeeping mission, comprising of the representatives from Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. The mission’s aim is to hold talks with the conflicting parties to achieve peaceful resolution of the political crisis and not to admit foreign military intervention.

Yesterday Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi called on the United Nations to set up a fact finding committee to investigate the situation in the country.

The demonstrators have been protesting against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s regime since February.

Four Armenian citizens were evacuated from Libya last Wednesday. They left for Moscow by a Russian plane.
