Speaker of Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan is confident that Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders will try to get a certain solution and achieve a positive movement in the peace process.
Commenting for journalists on a forthcoming meeting to be held in Sochi, Abrahamyan stressed he does not expect crucial changes. However, positive processes will be developed, he added.
As to bellicose statements voiced by Azerbaijani authorities, it is just an instrument which Baku is trying to use to intimidate Armenia.
“The Armenian President had already stated we do not want war but are ready to defend our land and people,” he said.
Abrahamyan also stressed Armenia had declared its stance and readiness to negotiate on three principles: non-use of force, right of nations to self-determination and territorial integrity.
