YEREVAN. – Over the past year, five elections were held in Armenia for Prime Minister, three heads of government have changed, the President was elected, as well as capital city Yerevan mayoral elections took place, the parliament dissolved, and general elections have taken place. And, ultimately, the “velvet revolution” took place.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday said about the abovementioned at the National Assembly, as he presented the 2018 activity report of the government.

In his words, world history records no other country where such major changes have occurred, yet they were not followed by a deep economic recession. 

“But we [Armenia] succeeded in maintaining the macroeconomic stability [in the country],” Pashinyan stressed.

Also, he assured that Armenia has entered a period of long-term political stability, and said this has started to show in the country’s economy, too.
