YEREVAN. – Israeli citizen arrested at Zvartnots airport in Yerevan will not be extradited to Israel, Armenian Justice Minister Artak Zeynalyan told reporters on Wednesday.
Israeli citizen Mari Agajanian, who was supposed to be jailed in November 2017 after she was convicted of fraud. She was arrested in Armenia in early March in an Interpol operation conducted at the request of the Israeli authorities.
Justice Minister said the Constitution bans handing over citizens of the country to other states.
“We are working on mutual acknowledgement of judicial acts. If there is an opportunity, the judicial acts has to be recognized. At the moment, extradition is out of the questions,” he added.
