YEREVAN. – There is no specific agenda for the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday stated the above-said at the National Assembly of Armenia, while he presented the 2018 activity report of the government.

In his words, the Armenian authorities’ respective notion is that these meetings should not have a specific agenda at the initial phase.

“There should be a wide range of matters on which exchange of views will be made,” the PM said.

Also, Pashinyan noted that the discussions will be held on the statements that were previously made.

“What has been announced in Stepanakert is an agenda by which we [Armenia] go,” Nikol Pashinyan concluded. “And it’s the platform on which we will ‘lean’ in the future negotiation process.”

At the recent joint meeting of the National Security Councils of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR)—and which was convened in Artsakh’s capital city of Stepanakert, Pashinyan had stated that the wordings that would not lead to misinterpretations should be put on the basis of the negotiations to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Also, he had noted that the need for Artsakh’s participation in these talks attests to the crucial importance of its involvement in the settlement of this conflict.

The Nikol Pashinyan-Ilham Aliyev formal meeting is slated for Friday in Vienna.
