Russia has always played and continues to play the most active role in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova said in an interview with the Azerbaijani ONA portal.

According to her, assistance to the parties in the Karabakh settlement is among the Russian foreign policy top priorities.

“This circumstance attaches particular importance to the mediation activity that is being carried out, determines the increased attention to its results. We work in close cooperation with other co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group,” she added.

According to her, the parties demonstrate their intention to continue work aimed at achieving a peaceful settlement.

“This was evidenced in a statement made following the recent meeting of the Azerbaijani President and Armenian Prime Minister in Vienna,” she added.
