The customs value of mobiles is twice as low now – U.S. $80 in 2010 against U.S. $160 in 2009.
Armenian News-NEWS.am took a straw poll of some outlets to find out the present demand and supply.
Alexey Hovhannisyan of a Nokia company outlet said that the prices have shown an annual fall of 20,000 AMD (U.S. $50). Specifically, models in great demand showed a price fall.
Lilit Grigoryan of the Samsung outlet pointed out a price reduction without an increase in sales. “Mobiles have showed a 30% decrease in price as compared with last year,” she said. Touch-screen mobiles are in greatest demand, she said.
Artur Badalyan of a Sony Ericsson outlet pointed out a reduction in prices for mobiles. “Low and average price models are mostly sold,” he said.
Lilit Avanesyan of the Askat mobile shop told Armenian News-NEWS.am that this year has seen a greater demand for iPhones. “Nokia and Samsumg mobiles are mostly sold,” Avanesyan said.
