Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has proposed that the country’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) should add American forces in West Asia to its list of terrorist groups in the Islamic Republic, Press TV reported.

Zarif made the proposal in a Monday letter to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who also chairs the SNSC, shortly after US President Donald Trump designated Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization.

Earlier it was reported that the United States would soon designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization.

The Iranian MFA said that the US military supports terrorist groups in the Middle East and are themselves involved in terrorist operations.
