YEREVAN. – The Russian convoy with humanitarian aid, and which headed for Iran Monday, has successfully crossed the Armenian-Iranian border.

Yuri Poleshchuk, Russian Co-Director of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center, on Tuesday told the abovementioned to reporters.

In his words, colleagues from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement have met the convoy and continued the humanitarian cargo transportation to Tabriz.

“No problem has arisen when crossing the border, and on the further way,” Poleshchuk added. “All sides were informed in advance about the route of the convoy. We hope that the cargo will be delivered to the destination in the evening.”

When asked by Armenian News-NEWS.am about the operative situation at the flood zone, Poleshchuk responded that the situation there was still severe, and the precipitation was continuing.

Pavel Gyozalyan, Armenian Co-Director of the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center, in turn, added that the convoy may be back in Armenia on Wednesday.
