Based on a complaint, the Market Surveillance Inspection Body is conducting an inspection at one of the gas stations owned by leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan, but the inspection is in progress. This is what Head of the Market Surveillance Inspection Body Armen Kotolyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I can’t talk about violations because inspection is in progress,” he said.

According to him, the inspection body is conducting an inspection at only one of the gas stations owned by Tsarukyan. He also touched upon the sale of gas in kilograms and stated that this won’t lead to a change of the gas price. “The only thing that will change is the unit of measurement. We talked to Gazprom, and the representatives assured that the company hasn’t changed the gas price,” he said.

According to Kotolyan, there might be economic operators who will try to take advantage of the situation and raise the gas price starting from 1 May, but there are no grounds for this. He added that the Market Surveillance Inspection Body must prevent any kind of artificial inflation along with the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition and the State Revenue Committee.
