UK will not send to the US the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange, if there he will face the death penalty, said Sky News Channel by the deputy head of the British Foreign Ministry, Alan Duncan.
”It is our broad policy in all circumstances, so it equally applies to Julian Assange, that he will not be extradited if he is going to face the death penalty. So that will apply to him,” Reuters reported referring to Duncan.
On Thursday, Assange was arrested by the London police in the Ecuadorian embassy in the British capital. Earlier it was reported that Ecuador decided to deny Assange asylum. Later, the UK Foreign Office thanked the Government of Ecuador for helping to arrest the founder of WikiLeaks.
