Japan’s nuclear power plant is facing a possible meltdown following Friday’s massive earthquake, Kyodo agency reports referring to specialists.
At the moment work is carried out to check whether meltdown is observed at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant’s Unit 1.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, on March 11, the biggest earthquake (8.9 magnitude) in the recent years hit the northeast of Japan, triggering a 10-meter tsunami. The epicenter is located 373 to north-east from Japan’s capital, Tokyo at the depth of 24 kilometers.
