Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said on Sunday that Iran has no reservation to hear US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, after the latter said he was interested in an interview with Iranian media, IRNA reported.

Rabiei said Press TV host Marzieh Hashemi can have the interview with Pompeo, if he is interested.

Hashemi is a journalist who was arrested at St. Louis airport, in the US state of Missouri, when she had arrived from Iran to visit her sick brother. Subsequently, FBI agents had transferred her to a prison in Washington, D.C. But she was released several days later.

“We announce that Press TV host Marzieh Hashemi can go to interview him [Pompeo] to give him the chance to say what he wants to say,” Ali Rabiei said.

The Iranian government spokesman added that Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif’s interviews with popular media had made Mike Pompeo ask for an interview with Iranian media.
