Judge Davit Grigoryan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction wasn’t present when the Supreme Judicial Council announced its decision on terminating his powers. This is what member of the Supreme Judicial Council Grigor Bekmezyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Bekmezyan informed that the Supreme Judicial Council considered the motion of the Prosecutor General’s Office to give consent to institution of criminal prosecution against Davit Grigoryan with the participation of the latter on July 26.

He stated that during the trial, Davit Grigoryan had asked the prosecutor questions, answered questions from the members of the Supreme Judicial Council and expressed his position.

“The day and hour of announcement of the decision was declared during the session, but the judge had informed the Judicial Department that he wasn’t going to be present during the announcement,” he said.

Bekmezyan informed that the final text of the decision will be ready today and will be provided to the judge.
