YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, is paying a working visit to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the government press service told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Armenian PM on Friday morning met with Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

“Your personal participation in today’s session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will contribute to the development of cooperation in the Eurasian expanse,” Jeenbekov noted, in particular.

“This is my first visit to Kyrgyzstan,” Pashinyan stated, above all, for his part. “I got familiarized with this year’s statistics; there is growth in our [bilateral] trade. (...). I believe the opportunity offered by the Eurasian Economic Union can be packaged, fully utilized.”

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the level of political relations between the two countries, and reaffirmed their readiness to develop cooperation between Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Kyrgyzstan discussed the avenues for the strengthening of political dialogue, deepening of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and increase of the volume of trade. They also touched upon the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting to be held in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, in October.

Nikol Pashinyan and Sooronbay Jeenbekov exchanged views also on several other matters of interest.
