The Amulsar gold mine can be exploited without a new risk assessment. This is what deputy of the ruling My Step Alliance Hayk Gevorgyan told journalists today.
He reminded that the Prime Minister has assigned the Ministry of Environment to clarify whether there is a need for an additional risk assessment or not. “Let’s see what the new study will show. I can’t say whether there is a need for a new risk assessment or not since it is up to the experts to say,” the deputy said.
A couple of days ago, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Jermuk where he met with the citizens, most of which said they were against mining in Jermuk. Later, Pashinyan declared that he had assigned to send the conclusion of ELARD to the Ministry of Environment to clarify whether there is a need to conduct an additional environmental impact assessment or not.
