YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian has sent a congratulatory message to President of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), Bako Sahakyan, on his birthday. Public relations department of the Office of the President of Armenia informed this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“For more than a quarter of a century, Artsakh is crafting the history of its struggle, freedom, and sovereignty,” the message reads in part. “More than a decade of that period of time falls into the period of your tenure as President of Artsakh, when the Armenian republic of Artsakh has continued to fully establish and develop in a historical part of the Armenian world.

“[But] you have served your experience, standing, and skills to dignifiedly resolve complicated situations for the benefit of Artsakh also before that: during the years of the Artsakh liberation struggle and war and of holding various public offices, alike.”
