According to Armenian News-NEWS.am, Judge Robert Papoyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction today upheld the motion filed by an investigator of the Investigation Department of the National Security Service and rendered a decision to detain former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan’s nephew Karen Khachatryan for two months.

Karen Khachatryan used to hold the position of head of the Internal Security Department of the State Revenue Committee and is charged with squander in particularly large amounts.

Former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, former Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan is also charged within the scope of the same criminal case, and the court is currently examining the motion for detention as a preventive measure for him.
