Today is the 28th anniversary of the declaration of Artsakh’s independence. These three decades are a story of all Armenians’ struggle, fortitude, heroism, and triumph which our people crafted. The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, noted this in his congratulatory message Monday, on the 28th anniversary of the independence of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
“The yearning for freedom in our historical land of Artsakh comes from the depths of the ages,” he added, in particular. “Freedom and peace were not presented to the Artsakh people as a gift, but were achieved at the cost of the lives, blood of thousands of Armenians. And the Declaration of Independence of Artsakh, adopted 28 years ago, was affirmed with endless love and devotion to the homeland.
“Today, more than ever, we [Armenians] stand determined and firm in defending the sovereign Republic of Artsakh—a symbol of Armenian unity—and its heroic children.
“Let’s together defend and preserve our triumphs and accomplishments!”
